The Tulare County Clerk-Recorder is the go-to choice for most Sequoia elopements! It’s located in Visalia, which is right on the way to the park for many couples. If you’re staying in Three Rivers, this is especially convenient and easy to work into your plans.

Start by completing the online application within 7 days of when you’ll visit the office in person. Appointments are typically required, and both partners need to be present. The license costs around $95 at this location. The process is quick, and you could easily do this the day-before your elopement so everything is done ahead of time.

Fresno County Clerk (Great Backup Option)

If you’re flying into Fresno, the Fresno County Clerk makes a lot of sense. You can stop here before heading toward Sequoia, which keeps your travel day efficient. It’s definitely a good fit for couples who are arriving the day before and spending a night in Fresno before driving into the mountains.

Appointments are required, and you can make one ahead of time here. Marriage licenses here range from $58 for public licenses to $69 for a confidential license, and the process is very similar to other counties.

Kings County Clerk-Recorder (Less Busy Option)

Kings County Clerk-Recorder is a solid alternative that often gets overlooked. It tends to be less busy than Fresno, which can make your appointment feel quicker and more relaxed. The process is the same, and it costs $91.

If you want something simple without as much foot traffic, this is a great option.
