Yosemite is such a beautiful place, especially for an intimate or adventurous elopement. There’s just something so amazing about eloping with nature as your backdrop. And not just a basic nature backdrop, I’m talking about those breathtaking mountains, rolling landscapes, and even waterfalls if you want! And because Yosemite National Park is so huge, there are endless opportunities for your pictures and plenty of ceremony locations. You’re Yosemite elopement is for sure to look unique to you because of this! But eloping here does take some planning, so that’s why I’ve created some tips to elope in Yosemite, so keep on reading!

The Best Time of Year To Elope in Yosemite
The best time of year to elope in Yosemite is late spring and summer! You’ll have the best views during this time and don’t have to worry too much about being cold. You’ll also have the most beautiful wildflowers during this season which make for stunning backdrops as well! Plus, the views of the valley, waterfalls, and meadows will be at their peak time! As far as the timing of the day, I definitely recommend closer to sunrise or sunset because that’s when it will be less crowded, and of course for those golden hour photos! Make sure to bring good shoes to hike in such as hiking boots and be ready for the adventure!
Choosing Your Ceremony Location & Applying For Your Permit
There are twelve different ceremony locations inside Yosemite National Park that you can choose from! All are beautiful and offer a bit of different scenery depending on what you’re looking for. You can see my top 3 locations here! You’ll need to fill out an application and get a permit which you can find here. Yosemite allows you to secure your date up to one year in advance and you have to have it scheduled within at least 21 days prior to your elopement. Ceremony locations can be competitive so I highly suggest planning and securing your ceremony location and permit as soon as you know where it is you want to elope!
