Yosemite in September is amazing! The mornings are cool, the crowds are lighter, and everything feels calm in a way that makes elopements… honestly, kind of perfect. That’s exactly why Migdalia & Liam chose this time of year for their day, something peaceful, meaningful, and all about them! These two are high-school sweethearts who love hiking, national parks, and doing life outside together. They’ve visited 14 parks so far, so choosing Yosemite for their elopement was a no-brainer. And September gave them the perfect mix of golden light, quiet trails, and those classic Yosemite views without the summer chaos!
Sunrise Yosemite Elopement in September
We started the morning at Glacier Point before the sun came up, and the overlook was completely quiet, one of the best perks of Yosemite in September! They wanted privacy before their family arrived, so the morning was just the two of them! After their private moment, their families met us at the amphitheater near Glacier Point for their religious ceremony. Even though they were already legally married, they wanted this moment to feel intentional and shared with the people closest to them. The light was soft, the weather was perfect (seriously, Yosemite in September is undefeated), and everyone was so supportive. Their dog proudly joined in for family photos too, obviously! Once we wrapped up at Glacier Point, we headed to Mariposa Grove to walk around the sequoias. This was the chillest part of the day, just wandering, stopping wherever the light looked good, letting their dog sniff a thousand sticks, and taking photos that felt like them just being themselves. The mix of sunrise views + forest trails made their gallery feel full and fun without needing a long hike or a big timeline!
