Stanley and I planned this surprise proposal for months. He and Abby live in Texas and they were coming to Yosemite for a vacation. We were originally going to do the session at sunset but the weather changed last minute so we decided to do sunrise to avoid the rain as much as possible. He had Abby dress nice so they could set up a tripod and take some photos together on their last day in Yosemite on the day of the proposal.
I got there a bit before them (it was cold and already raining a little bit so I looked like a loser sitting there by myself on the ground just enjoying the view lol) and when they got out of the car they asked me to take a photo of them with their phone since I was sitting there. They walked out a little bit and I took my camera out and started snapping shots of them without Abby noticing and he proposed! Tips To Have A Successful Surprise Proposal at Yosemite
Yosemite is an outstanding place with gorgeous views. It is the perfect location to plan a surprise proposal! Romantic and adventurous all in one. Here I will give you some tips on how to plan a successful proposal in Yosemite!
My first tip, just like Stanley did, is communicate with your photographer! We know the area and know the BEST locations for your surprise proposal at Yosemite. Another tip I have is to scout the location prior. If you live in the area, I always think its a good idea to go to the location where you want to propose. That way you can know exactly how it will look during the time of your proposal. Another very IMPORTANT tip is to check for required permits! A lot of National Parks require permits for the safety of yourself and to protect the land. Yosemite is a magical place for the adventurous couple and is perfect for engagements!
