There’s something about Yosemite National Park that just feels special. The cliffs, the light, the quiet mountain air, it all comes together perfectly! Garrett and Kylei’s Yosemite National Park proposal at Taft Point had everything: laid-back energy, real emotion, and the biggest smiles ever. Garrett had been planning this Yosemite National Park proposal for months. He knew Yosemite was special to them and that Taft Point had the kind of view that makes you stop in your tracks. When the day finally came, everything fell into place perfectly!
Their Yosemite National Park Proposal Story
Pulling off a Yosemite National Park proposal takes a little bit of prep, but that’s part of the fun. Garrett and I coordinated everything ahead of time, where he’d stand, how he’d signal, and how I’d blend in so Kylei wouldn’t suspect a thing.
I got to Taft Point early to make sure they’d have space for the big moment. Of course, it’s one of Yosemite’s most popular overlooks, so there were about thirty people hanging around taking in the view. I politely asked everyone if they could clear a small area for a proposal, and they were all so kind! They stepped aside without hesitation.
When Garrett and Kylei arrived, I pretended to be a landscape photographer while my associate stayed farther back for the wide shots. Garrett got down on one knee, she said yes, and the whole cliffside crowd erupted in cheers. The energy was unmatched! One of those moments that feels straight out of a movie, except this one was totally real.
After the surprise, we explored Taft Point for some golden-hour portraits. The light that evening was unreal soft, warm, and perfect for capturing that just-engaged glow. We wrapped up at Glacier Point, for a few more portraits as the sun dipped behind the valley!
