When Karina and Eduardo arrived for their winter maternity photos in Yosemite, they didn’t expect the rain to make an appearance. But sometimes, the unexpected weather adds the perfect touch to your photos, and that’s exactly what happened during this session. Instead of shying away from the rainy skies, they embraced the moody atmosphere, and it made for one of the most stunning, unique maternity shoots I’ve had the pleasure of capturing.
Karina and Eduardo’s Rainy Winter Maternity Photos in Yosemite
Yosemite National Park is already an extraordinary place for any session, but on this day, the weather truly added something special to the experience. Karina and Eduardo had planned for a snow-filled session, but when the rain rolled in, it only made their maternity shoot even more memorable. The stormy skies created the perfect dramatic backdrop, turning Cooks Meadow and Yosemite Falls into a moody and breathtaking canvas for their love story.
Starting in Cooks Meadow, the weather was misty, and the ground was damp—but that didn’t stop Karina and Eduardo from embracing every moment. Karina looked stunning in her maternity dress which was perfect for the winter vibes and even though the weather wasn’t what she had imagined, her excitement and energy made the rain seem like a distant thought.
As a Yosemite photographer, I thrive in moments like these, when nature and weather force you to think creatively. And let me tell you, the results were so worth it. After our time in the meadow, we made our way to Yosemite Falls. As they stood together in front of the mighty falls, I could see the love between these two. They were completely present with each other!

Where do I begin?? *eyes water* Alyssa has been so fun and easy to work with since the day I reached out.
We met through zoom and answered all questions. The weather was very cold and rainy the day of our shoot and I was feeling pretty down about it BUT as soon as we met up with Alyssa all of that turned around! Her energy was amazing, she made shooting so easy and feel so natural. I love how she directed us and hyped us up! Made me feel very comfortable. Time just flew by working with her. Once the gallery was delivered I just could not believe how AMAZING the photos looked! Her work is so so beautiful and her communication, spectacular! THANKS SO MUCH ALYSSA!
